ZARI BLACK

Zari Black is an upcycling sewist who loves making trash into treasure!

They first started sewing in middle school when they had a major interest in cosplay and wanted to make a costume of their own. But it was not until they started performing in Drag under the stage name 'ZeLucy Leone Fur' that their passion was unlocked. From the beginning of their Drag journey Zari has made well over 20 outfits by themself from thrifted, dumpster-dived, and free materials only.

They believe art is for everyone and no price tag is going to stop them from creating. Because of this, Zari has been able to make her dream closet come to life with only spending a fraction of the cost. Sustainability is what makes art fun for them!

On top of using free and found materials you can find some of their work is not even made from fabric at all. Using their own creativity, and a little bit of inspiration, they have made and modeled outfits constructed from book paper, braiding hair, and plastic balls.
